As a child living in apartments in Hartford, CT, I'd visit the nearby library, sign out five or six books, sit on a curb, read them, and head back to the library to choose more before returning home. As a teenager I'd spin stories for friends, with wild romantic heroes who needed some taming by beautiful heroines. I wrote poetry through childhood and adolescence. Pretty bad stuff! After marriage and children my creativity traversed into other areas, like decorating birthday cakes and promoting and starting a local teen center. During that time I attended college part time, wrote for college publications, published book reviews and human interest stories for a local newspaper, published poetry, and wrote daily journals. My biggest rewards, however, came from creating a home and raising my three sons and my daughter.
After my children graduated high school, I completed my Master's Degrees and began my English teaching career. Through the mire of correcting students' papers, I began writing my first novel. Having been a voracious reader of historical romance, I thought to myself, "I can do this!" Thus, my first novel, Regal Reward, was born and nurtured.
My move to the ocean after my divorce meant time for healing and renewal. Sun and surf, swans, egrets, and ospreys charmed me and helped revive my creative aspirations. Besides high school teaching and working as an adjunct at a local community college, I also enjoy kayaking, swimming, traveling, and sketching. Most of all, I relish spending time with family and friends and snuggling with my favorite hero, my fiance, who supports my writing through the dead of night or in the wee hours of the morning.
