"Because I don't feel that way about her!" Danjer exploded. His brilliant eyes were wild, his breathing uneven as he stared at Saxon. "Because I'm an Earther!" he shouted, jabbing a thumb into his chest. "Earthers don't share their women."
"Never?"
"Not if they…care about them," Danjer ground out through clenched teeth.
"Not if they love them?" Saxon asked quietly, but Danjer didn't answer. "What happens when two friends love the same woman?"
"Then," Danjer grunted, averting his gaze, "they're not friends anymore."
"What?" Saxon asked with quiet panic. "What?"
"You heard me."
"Yeah, I heard you. I just don't believe you. Are Earthers really that fucked up?"
